New Jersey’s voter rolls are under intense scrutiny after state officials acknowledged that roughly 6,600 noncitizens were registered to vote through what Gov. Mikie Sherrill described as a software glitch involving the state’s motor vehicle system.
On NEWSMAX’s “Sunday Agenda,” host Lidia Curanaj examines the controversy with Early Vote Action founder Scott Presler and former U.S. Election Assistance Commission Chairman Don Palmer, now a senior election-integrity fellow at the Heritage Foundation.
Presler argues the revelation vindicates election-integrity advocates who were previously dismissed or silenced for raising concerns about noncitizens appearing on voter rolls. He also claims that hundreds of the individuals identified in New Jersey cast ballots, warning that even a relatively small number of disputed votes can determine close elections.
Palmer says voter-registration problems are not limited to New Jersey or Democratic-led states. He argues election officials need stronger tools to verify citizenship and prevent ineligible registrations before ballots are cast.
The panel also reacts to media claims that noncitizen voting is exceedingly rare and discusses the Republican push to pass the SAVE America Act, which would strengthen proof-of-citizenship requirements for federal voter registration.
